Therapeutic & Sports Taping

Here at Healthy Harmony, we have trained in the use of a multi-tiered approach to Biomechanical Taping to assist our clients with rehabilitation following operations or injuries and posture correction utilising DYNAMIC TAPE ® the “Original” Biomechanical Tape ®. This is an entirely new category of therapeutic and sports taping unlike kinesiology or athletic tape

Dynamic Tape is an innovative, soft, breathable, 4-way stretching tape with strong elastic resistance and recoil of varying grades, absorb and inject force to reduce the workload on the body. It is of such high quality and strength that professional athletes around the world trust the product every day…from rehabilitation to the World Sporting Events.

This taping methodology aims to directly manage load, modify movement patterns and assist function and it is a great way to support a joint or area after injury or for injury prevention during activities! Although it is not a solution to a problem it can decrease pain, reduce healing time and allow you to continue with everyday activities or sports.

A focus on movement, function, and load allows us to get effective results. Dynamic Tape has been specifically developed to provide strong mechanical assistance externally to:

* Reduce the work on injured tissues
* Assist weak muscles
* Improve movement patterns
* Augment stability via force closure mechanism
* Change position to improve the muscle’s capacity to generate force (length-tension relationship or modifying lever arms)

all while still allowing full range of motion even when performing complex, multi-planar movements like those required in sport or work.

When the tape is applied following a sports or deep tissue massage it does all the work your muscles normally would do, so, you can feel supported and means you don’t immediately undo all the good effects that the massage had! If there is a joint issue the tape will prevent the joint from moving into the position that causes pain without restricting the joint from moving in other directions, this way mobility isn’t impaired but pain will be prevented so the person can continue with their activity.  Taping isn’t supposed to be a permanent solution to an injury, it is simply used to aid in the initial recovery process, but can be applied and stay on for up to five days.

It can also be applied to the back in general to maintain good posture! Taping the back will help you maintain good posture and stop you from slouching or letting the shoulders roll forwards without the muscles feeling fatigued or strained. The tape does all the work your muscles normally would do, so, you can remain relaxed but supported.
